Overview

Rumex crispus pollen is a biologic allergenic extract derived from the pollen of the *Rumex crispus* plant, commonly known as curly or yellow dock. [1] It was approved for use in the United States in 1941. [4] The extract is used for both diagnostic purposes (allergenic skin testing) and for therapeutic hyposensitization (immunotherapy) in individuals with allergic reactions to this specific pollen. [1] Immunotherapy involves administering the extract via subcutaneous injection to gradually expose the immune system to the allergen, with the goal of reducing allergic sensitivity over time. [1] One product containing this extract was "Center-al - Rumex Crispus Pollen," developed and distributed by ALK-Abelló, Inc. This product has since been discontinued, with its NDC listing expiring in 2023.
