Runfei Ointment

Runfei Ointment (also known as Runfei Gao or Nourishing Fei Ointment) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) hospital preparation developed by the China-Japan Friendship Hospital. It is formulated as a concentrated herbal paste (Gao Fang) intended for oral administration. The preparation is specifically designed to treat respiratory diseases characterized by the TCM syndrome of "deficiency of both qi and yin with residual heat." Clinical applications include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung disease (ILD), bronchiectasis, and various types of chronic cough, including post-infectious cough and pediatric cough variant asthma. The therapeutic mechanism focuses on nourishing lung yin, replenishing qi, and clearing lingering heat from the respiratory tract to improve clinical symptoms and quality of life.
