Overview
Rupatifen fumarate is a small molecule dual antagonist of the histamine H1 receptor and the platelet-activating factor (PAF) receptor. Developed by Fujian Mindong Rejuvenation Pharmaceutical, it is currently in Phase 3 clinical development for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis. The drug is designed to inhibit the inflammatory pathways associated with both the early-phase (histamine-mediated) and late-phase (PAF-mediated) allergic responses, which contribute to symptoms such as sneezing, nasal itching, and congestion. In clinical trials, it is typically administered as an oral capsule and has been evaluated in head-to-head studies against rupatadine fumarate, a structurally related antihistamine.
