Ruta chalepensis acetone extract is a phytochemical preparation derived from the fringed rue plant (*Ruta chalepensis*), a medicinal herb traditionally used for cardiovascular and other ailments. Phytochemical profiling indicates that the acetone extract is primarily composed of monoterpenes and flavonoids, with quercetin (8.2%) identified as a significant bioactive component. In preclinical studies using Triton WR-1339-induced hyperlipidemic rat models, the extract has demonstrated potent lipid-modulating properties. Specifically, it has been shown to significantly reduce total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) while markedly increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Its therapeutic potential is attributed to the synergistic effects of its constituent flavonoids and monoterpenes on lipid metabolism and antioxidant pathways, although the precise molecular targets require further validation.
