Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RV-P1501 is a combination therapy consisting of a medical-grade hyaluronan (hyaluronic acid) scaffold and autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs). Developed primarily for the treatment of peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD) and critical limb ischemia, the hyaluronan component serves as a biocompatible delivery vehicle that enhances the local retention, survival, and pro-angiogenic activity of the transplanted cells. By providing a supportive microenvironment and interacting with cell surface receptors such as CD44, RV-P1501 facilitates therapeutic angiogenesis, aiming to restore blood flow to ischemic limbs and prevent amputation. The program has been evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials sponsored by Academia Sinica in collaboration with Rovii Biotech.
