PMLE is a common immune-mediated skin reaction to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, characterized by itchy rashes or blisters following sun exposure. RV3131A-HC3221 acts as a broad-spectrum photoprotective agent, utilizing a combination of UV filters to prevent the induction of skin lesions by blocking UVA and UVB radiation. The formulation has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials in Europe to determine its efficacy and optimal dosing in adults with a history of PMLE confirmed by photobiologic testing.
