Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RVM-V001 is an mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed by RVAC Medicines for the prevention of COVID-19. The vaccine utilizes a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery system to transport messenger RNA encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein into host cells. Once inside the cells, the mRNA is translated into the viral protein, which then stimulates the immune system to produce neutralizing antibodies and activate T-cell responses against the virus. RVM-V001 is being evaluated in clinical trials as a booster dose in healthy adults who have previously received primary vaccination series with other mRNA vaccines, such as BNT162b2 (Pfizer/BioNTech) or mRNA-1273 (Moderna).
