rVSV Lassa vaccine

The rVSV Lassa vaccine is an investigational **viral vector vaccine** designed to prevent Lassa fever by using a recombinant vesicular stomatitis virus backbone engineered to express a Lassa virus antigen, most commonly the Lassa virus glycoprotein complex. The intended mechanism is to infect host cells transiently and drive in vivo expression of the Lassa antigen, thereby inducing humoral and cellular immune responses that protect against subsequent Lassa virus exposure.
