Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RVX-003 is a preclinical-stage recombinant protein vaccine being developed by ReNewVax to prevent infections caused by *Streptococcus pyogenes* (Group A Streptococcus, or GAS). The vaccine is designed to target conserved antigens that cover more than 60% of disease-causing emm types. By inducing immunity against these conserved components, RVX-003 aims to provide broad protection against a range of GAS-related conditions, including strep throat, necrotizing fasciitis, and toxic shock syndrome, as well as post-infectious complications such as acute rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease.
