Overview
**RVX10** is an investigational live-attenuated herpes simplex virus vaccine developed by Rational Vaccines for prevention and treatment of herpes simplex virus infection, with published preclinical work focused on ocular infection caused by herpes simplex virus 1. As a live-attenuated vaccine, it is intended to expose the immune system to a weakened HSV-1 virus to induce protective antiviral immunity and reduce disease following viral challenge. Reported preclinical data indicate robust protection in vaccinated mice against ocular HSV-1 infection, supporting its positioning as a biologic vaccine candidate for HSV infection rather than a small-molecule therapeutic.
