RX-10008

RX-10008 is a small molecule resolvin analog and the active metabolite of the prodrug RX-10045, developed by Resolvyx Pharmaceuticals. It is structurally related to Resolvin E1 (RvE1), a lipid mediator derived from the omega-3 fatty acid eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). RX-10008 functions as a pro-resolving mediator that reduces inflammation and promotes tissue repair, specifically targeting ocular diseases such as dry eye and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). It works by suppressing the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines (like IL-6 and IL-8) and promoting corneal epithelial cell migration and wound healing. Administered topically as eye drops, it has shown preclinical efficacy in reducing corneal inflammation and preventing goblet cell loss.
