Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RX-AF01 is an investigational live biotherapeutic product consisting of the bacterial strain *Alisipes finegoldii*, a Gram-negative anaerobic bacterium naturally found in the human intestine. [3] Developed by a research group at Sun Yat-sen University, RX-AF01 is designed to function as an anti-tumor agent. [3, 4] Preclinical research suggests that it enhances the anti-tumor activity of PD-1 inhibitors by increasing the infiltration of CD4+ and CD8+ immune cells into the tumor microenvironment. [1, 3] It is currently being evaluated in a Phase 1 clinical trial in combination with the PD-1 antibody toripalimab for the treatment of various refractory advanced solid tumors. [3, 4]
