Drug intelligence / Profile preview
RXC009 (formerly known as REDX-DDR1) is a novel, orally bioavailable, highly potent, and selective small molecule inhibitor of discoidin domain receptor 1 (DDR1) developed by Redx Pharma. DDR1 is a collagen-activated receptor tyrosine kinase that is upregulated in various fibrotic diseases. Preclinical studies in mouse models of chronic kidney disease (CKD), such as the unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) model, have demonstrated that RXC009 significantly reduces histological markers of inflammation and fibrosis, suppresses pro-fibrotic genes, and shows robust target engagement as measured by the suppression of phospho-DDR1. RXC009 is being developed as a potential first-in-class treatment for chronic kidney disease and associated renal fibrosis, including conditions like Alport Syndrome.
