Overview

RXIM002 is an investigational in-vivo CAR T-cell therapy that utilizes circular RNA (circRNA) technology to target CD19-positive B cells. Developed by Renix Therapeutics in collaboration with Ruijin Hospital, it is designed to treat a range of B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. Unlike traditional CAR-T therapies that require ex-vivo cell engineering, RXIM002 is administered directly to the patient, where the circRNA instructs the body's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) against CD19. This approach aims to achieve deep B-cell depletion while potentially offering a more scalable and accessible treatment compared to autologous cell therapies. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for multiple autoimmune conditions, including systemic lupus erythematosus and lupus nephritis.
