RXRG001

RXRG001 is an investigational circular RNA therapy developed by RiboX Therapeutics for the treatment of radiation-induced xerostomia (RIX) and hyposalivation, conditions commonly resulting from radiation therapy in head and neck cancer patients. The drug consists of a circular RNA encoding human aquaporin 1 (hAQP1), a water channel protein, encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles. By promoting overexpression of hAQP1 in salivary gland cells, RXRG001 aims to restore water permeability and increase saliva production, thereby alleviating symptoms of dry mouth. This represents the first clinical-stage circular RNA therapeutic approach for these indications[1][2][3][4][5].
