Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Rykindo (LY03004) is an extended-release microsphere formulation of the atypical antipsychotic risperidone, developed by Luye Pharma Group. It is administered via intramuscular injection every two weeks. The drug utilizes a proprietary microsphere technology platform to provide sustained release of risperidone, which acts as an antagonist at dopamine D2 and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors. It is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia in adults and as maintenance treatment for bipolar I disorder, either as monotherapy or adjunctive therapy to lithium or valproate. Rykindo is notable as the first innovative formulation from a Chinese pharmaceutical company to receive FDA approval.
