RYZ801 is a novel peptide-drug conjugate radiopharmaceutical developed for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It consists of a proprietary peptide that targets glypican-3 (GPC3), an oncofetal protein overexpressed in up to 75% of HCC tumors but minimally present in normal tissues. The peptide is conjugated to the radioisotope Actinium-225 (Ac225), enabling targeted delivery of ionizing radiation directly to GPC3-positive tumor cells, leading to tumor cell death. Preclinical studies have demonstrated selective tumor uptake and significant inhibition or regression of tumor growth with single doses. RYZ801 is being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials as part of a theranostic pair with the diagnostic agent RYZ811 for patients with unresectable GPC3-positive HCC[1][2][3][5][7].
