RZ-iMSN001 is an allogeneic induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived cell therapy candidate being developed by Guangzhou Regenverse Therapeutics for the treatment of Huntington's disease. The therapy consists of a population of medium spiny neurons (MSNs) that are positive for DARPP-32 and CTIP2 markers. These cells are designed to be transplanted into the striatum to replace the MSNs that are progressively lost during the course of Huntington's disease. By restoring these neurons, RZ-iMSN001 aims to repair the cortical-basal ganglia neural circuits, specifically the indirect pathway, thereby potentially alleviating motor and cognitive symptoms. The program is currently in the preclinical stage, focusing on process development.
