Drug intelligence / Profile preview
S-1360 (also known as GW810781) is a small molecule HIV integrase inhibitor that was developed by GlaxoSmithKline for the treatment of HIV infection. It was evaluated in Phase II clinical trials to assess its antiviral effect, safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in HIV-infected patients. The drug demonstrated acceptable pharmacokinetic profiles and tolerability but its development was discontinued in July 2003. Its mechanism of action involves inhibition of the human immunodeficiency virus integrase enzyme (HIV IN), which is essential for viral DNA integration into the host genome[1][2][3][4][5][7].
