Drug intelligence / Profile preview
S-2196 is a Chinese herbal medicine formula developed for the treatment of female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). It is currently being evaluated in a single-arm, open-label pilot clinical trial to assess its efficacy and safety in alleviating the amount and frequency of urinary incontinence episodes among women aged 55 years and above who meet established diagnostic criteria for SUI. The intervention consists of oral administration of the decoction twice daily for two weeks. The primary outcomes include changes in urinary leakage measured by a standard pad test and changes in daily frequency of incontinent episodes. Secondary outcomes include patient-reported symptom scores, while safety is monitored through adverse event reporting and general physical examination[1][6][8].
