S-588410 is a cancer peptide vaccine composed of five human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*24:02-restricted epitope peptides derived from five cancer-testis antigens—DEPDC1, MPHOSPH1, URLC10, CDCA1, and KOC1. These antigens are highly expressed in several cancers including esophageal and urothelial carcinoma. The vaccine is designed to induce cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) specific for these tumor-associated peptides, thereby stimulating an immune response against tumor cells expressing the target antigens. Clinical studies have shown that S-588410 can increase CTL activity and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in treated patients. It has been evaluated as maintenance therapy after chemotherapy in advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma and as adjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer. The drug was developed by Shionogi under license from OncoTherapy Science.
