S-588410 is a cancer peptide vaccine composed of five human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A*24:02-restricted epitope peptides derived from five cancer-testis antigens—DEPDC1, MPHOSPH1, URLC10, CDCA1, and KOC1. These antigens are highly expressed in several cancers including esophageal and urothelial carcinoma. The vaccine is designed to induce cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) specific for these tumor-associated peptides, thereby stimulating an immune response against tumor cells expressing the target antigens. Clinical studies have shown that S-588410 can increase CTL activity and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in treated patients. It has been evaluated as maintenance therapy after chemotherapy in advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma and as adjuvant therapy in esophageal cancer.
