S-Apomorphine is an enantiomer of apomorphine that is devoid of dopamine receptor agonist activity. It possesses antioxidative and iron-chelating properties. Studies have investigated its neuroprotective effects, particularly in models of Parkinson's disease, suggesting its actions are linked to its antioxidative activity, iron chelation, potential monoamine oxidase inhibition, and upregulation of tyrosine hydroxylase activity.
