Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The S-OIV H1N1 vaccine refers to a monovalent influenza vaccine targeting the 2009 pandemic swine-origin influenza A (H1N1) virus. In studies conducted by The University of Hong Kong, this vaccine was evaluated for dose-sparing efficacy using intradermal delivery via the MicronJet600 microneedle device. The research aimed to demonstrate that a reduced dose (20% of standard) delivered intradermally could elicit an immune response non-inferior to the standard intramuscular dose, thereby potentially increasing vaccine availability during pandemic shortages.
