Overview

S68345 is a selective, small molecule inhibitor of B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2) developed by Servier. It functions as a BH3-mimetic, binding to the hydrophobic groove of BCL-2 and displacing pro-apoptotic proteins, which triggers the intrinsic apoptotic pathway in cancer cells. The drug is primarily being evaluated for the treatment of hematological malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). Unlike some other BCL-2 inhibitors, S68345 is administered intravenously. It is often studied in combination with other agents, such as azacitidine, to enhance therapeutic efficacy in patients with relapsed or refractory disease.
