Overview

SA-GM-CSF is a novel bifunctional fusion protein designed as an immunotherapy for superficial bladder cancer. It consists of streptavidin (SA) tagged to bioactive granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). The drug works by being intravesically instilled and immobilized on the biotinylated mucosal surface of the bladder wall, leveraging streptavidin's strong binding to biotin. This localized delivery of GM-CSF aims to stimulate an effective anti-tumor immune response, leading to the inhibition of tumor cell growth.
