Overview
Sabroxy is a standardized botanical extract derived from the bark of the *Oroxylum indicum* tree, traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is primarily investigated for its neuroprotective and cognitive-enhancing effects. The extract is standardized to contain specific bioactive compounds, notably baicalein, oroxylin A, and chrysin. Its primary mechanism of interest involves the upregulation of brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which supports neuronal survival and plasticity. Sabroxy is being developed and studied by Clinical Research Australia in collaboration with Sami-Sabinsa Group for the treatment of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and self-reported memory complaints in older adults. It is classified as a nutraceutical or dietary supplement rather than a pharmaceutical drug.
