Overview

This is a combination dietary supplement containing the probiotic yeast *Saccharomyces boulardii* (a strain of *Saccharomyces cerevisiae*) and the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD). *S. boulardii* acts as a probiotic, modulating gut microbiota, supporting intestinal barrier function, and exerting anti-inflammatory effects. Superoxide dismutase is an endogenous antioxidant enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of superoxide radicals to hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, thereby reducing oxidative stress. The combination has been studied for its potential benefits in obesity management by decreasing body weight, fat mass, insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), uric acid levels, and systemic inflammation in obese adults. Animal studies also suggest reduced risk of metabolic syndrome associated with obesity when using this combination[1][2][3][5].
