Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Sacituzumab govitecan + pegfilgrastim is a combination regimen used primarily in the treatment of advanced or metastatic breast cancer, particularly triple-negative breast cancer. Sacituzumab govitecan is an antibody-drug conjugate that targets Trop-2, a cell surface antigen highly expressed in many epithelial cancers. It consists of a humanized monoclonal antibody linked to SN-38, the active metabolite of irinotecan and a potent topoisomerase I inhibitor. This design allows targeted delivery of cytotoxic therapy to tumor cells while sparing normal tissue. Pegfilgrastim is a long-acting granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) analog used to reduce the risk and severity of neutropenia caused by chemotherapy; it stimulates neutrophil production and recovery after cytotoxic regimens such as those involving sacituzumab govitecan[2][4][8]. The combination is not marketed as a fixed-dose product but represents standard supportive care practice when using sacituzumab govitecan due to its high risk for neutropenia.
