Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SagaPro is a botanical dietary supplement derived from the leaves of *Angelica archangelica* (Icelandic angelica), a medicinal herb with a long history of use in Iceland. Developed by SagaMedica ehf., it is primarily used to manage nocturia (frequent nighttime urination) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) often associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The supplement is believed to work by relaxing the smooth muscle cells of the bladder and urethra, a process potentially mediated by bioactive constituents such as leukotriene inhibitors, flavonoids, and polyphenols. Clinical studies, including randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trials, have evaluated its efficacy in improving nocturnal bladder capacity and reducing void frequency in men aged 45 and older.
