Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Saiba Biotech's pandemic influenza vaccine is a virus-like particle (VLP)-based vaccine candidate currently in preclinical development. The vaccine is designed to present influenza antigens, such as hemagglutinin, in a highly repetitive and organized multivalent format that mimics the structure of a virus to elicit a potent and broad immune response against pandemic influenza strains. This approach aims to provide a rapid and effective response to emerging influenza threats without the use of infectious viral material. The development of this vaccine involves a network of academic and research partners, including the University of Zurich, the University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, the University of Dundee, CHUV, the Jenner Institute, and A*STAR Singapore.
