Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a preclinical-stage virus-like particle (VLP)-based malaria vaccine being developed by Saiba Biotech, a Swiss biotechnology company. The vaccine utilizes Saiba's proprietary VLP technology platform, which employs virally shaped nanoparticles as a scaffold to display malaria antigens. This approach is designed to trick the immune system into responding as if it were under viral attack, thereby eliciting robust protective antibody and cellular immune responses against the malaria parasite. The vaccine is being developed in collaboration with several academic and research institutions, including the University of Zurich, University of Oxford, ETH Zurich, University of Dundee, CHUV, The Jenner Institute, and A*STAR Singapore.
