Overview

Saiko nasal spray is a botanical therapeutic candidate derived from the *Bupleurum* plant (known as Saiko in Japanese and Chaihu in Chinese), developed by Fudan University. It is formulated for intranasal administration to treat fever and symptoms associated with acute upper respiratory tract infections. The extract contains active compounds such as saikosaponins, which are traditionally recognized for their antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory effects. A Phase 1 clinical trial (CTR20131363) was conducted in China to assess the safety, tolerability, and human dosage of the spray in healthy adult volunteers.
