Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Sailin-HbS** is a proprietary oral polyherbal phytoceutical developed by Sai Phytoceuticals for sickle cell disease. It is produced as a vacuum-dried aqueous alkaline extract of five botanical materials and supplied in capsules. The formulation is intended to act as an anti-sickling agent by inhibiting hypoxia-induced polymerization of sickle hemoglobin and thereby reducing sickling of erythrocytes. Published ex vivo work reported inhibition of sickling in red blood cells from people with sickle cell disease, while the sponsor describes it for prophylactic management of sickle cell disease. Its active phytochemical constituents and precise molecular binding interactions have not been fully defined publicly.
