Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SAL0125 is a long-acting dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptors, developed by Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, obesity, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). By simultaneously activating both GLP-1 and GIP receptors, SAL0125 aims to provide superior glycemic control and weight loss compared to selective GLP-1 receptor agonists. The dual agonism enhances insulin secretion, improves insulin sensitivity, slows gastric emptying, and reduces food intake through synergistic effects on the pancreas and the central nervous system.
