SAL0195 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of elevated lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] levels. It is designed to target and degrade the mRNA encoding apolipoprotein(a) [apo(a)], the defining protein component of Lp(a), thereby reducing its synthesis in the liver. Elevated Lp(a) is a genetically determined, independent risk factor for cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and aortic stenosis. SAL0195 is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacodynamic effects on Lp(a) reduction.
