Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SAL023 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody being developed by Shenzhen Salubris Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of osteoporosis. It acts as a sclerostin (SOST) inhibitor, mimicking the mechanism of action of the reference product, romosozumab (Evenity). By binding to and inhibiting sclerostin, SAL023 promotes bone formation and decreases bone resorption, thereby increasing bone mineral density. It is currently undergoing Phase 1 clinical trials in China to establish pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, safety, and immunogenicity biosimilarity to Italy-manufactured Evenity.
