Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Saldon Plus is an over-the-counter (OTC) antiseptic lozenge developed by Shayana Farm for the local treatment of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the mouth and throat. It contains a combination of two active ingredients: amylmetacresol (0.60 mg) and 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol (1.20 mg). These small molecule agents act as antiseptics with synergistic antibacterial effects against a broad spectrum of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. The product is indicated for conditions such as pharyngitis, laryngitis, and tonsillitis, and it helps prevent secondary infections during viral upper respiratory tract diseases. It is manufactured by Avison Pharmaceutical in India and marketed in various flavors including anise-menthol, strawberry, orange, and lemon-honey.
