SALFLUSOL

SALFLUSOL is an inhaled fixed-dose combination therapy developed and manufactured by Medisol Lifescience. It consists of salmeterol, a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic agonist (LABA), and fluticasone propionate, a potent inhaled corticosteroid (ICS). Salmeterol provides sustained bronchodilation by selectively stimulating beta-2 adrenergic receptors in the airway smooth muscle, leading to muscle relaxation and improved airflow. Fluticasone propionate acts as an anti-inflammatory agent by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, which inhibits the production of various inflammatory cytokines and mediators. This dual mechanism of action effectively manages both the bronchoconstriction and the underlying airway inflammation characteristic of obstructive respiratory conditions. SALFLUSOL is administered via a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) and is indicated for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
