SALIAI-UC1 is an investigational allogeneic cell therapy consisting of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSCs), developed by Guangzhou Sailera Stem Cell Technology for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. The therapy is administered via intra-articular injection and works by leveraging the regenerative and immunomodulatory properties of MSCs. Once in the joint, these cells secrete a variety of paracrine factors, including anti-inflammatory cytokines and growth factors, which help to suppress synovial inflammation, inhibit the degradation of the extracellular matrix, and promote the repair of damaged cartilage. By modulating the local immune environment and stimulating endogenous repair processes, SALIAI-UC1 aims to alleviate pain and improve joint function in patients with degenerative knee conditions.
