salicylic acid + lactic acid + copper acetate

Verucid is a topical keratolytic gel formulation containing 11% salicylic acid and 4% lactic acid, often supplemented with copper acetate. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of plantar warts (verrucae). The mechanism of action involves the chemical dissolution of the intercellular cement in the stratum corneum and the softening of keratinized skin tissue, which leads to the gradual desquamation and peeling of the wart. Verucid is recognized in clinical guidelines, such as those from the British Association of Dermatologists, and has been used as a standard-of-care comparator in clinical trials, including Phase 4 studies evaluating fractionated CO2 laser-assisted photodynamic therapy for recalcitrant viral warts.
