Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Salinex is an over-the-counter (OTC) nasal spray developed and marketed by Exzell Pharma (now part of Biolab). The product contains a 0.9% (9 mg/mL) isotonic sodium chloride solution. It is designed to provide relief from nasal congestion associated with common colds, allergies, rhinitis, and allergic rhinitis. The saline solution works through a mechanical and hydrating action: it moistens the nasal mucous membranes, loosens thick or encrusted mucus, and hydrates dry nasal passages to facilitate drainage and improve airway clearance. Salinex is established as a long-standing brand in the Canadian market and includes formulations tailored for both adults and children.
