Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Salipro Biotech's SLC Oncology program is a preclinical drug discovery initiative focused on the Solute Carrier (SLC) transporter superfamily for the treatment of cancer. SLCs are multi-pass transmembrane proteins that facilitate the transport of essential nutrients and metabolites; their dysregulation is a hallmark of cancer metabolism. The program utilizes the proprietary Salipro® technology, which incorporates membrane proteins into stable lipid nanoparticles (Salipro® particles), maintaining their native conformation and functionality. This platform enables the identification and development of therapeutic modalities, including monoclonal antibodies and small molecules, against these historically difficult-to-drug targets. The program is distinct from Salipro's MCT1 (SLC16A1) program, which also targets a member of the SLC family.
