Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Salmonella Paratyphi A conjugate vaccine (also known as S. paratyphi conjugate) is an investigational monovalent conjugate vaccine being developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The vaccine is designed to prevent paratyphoid fever, a systemic bacterial infection caused by Salmonella enterica serovar Paratyphi A. It consists of the Salmonella Paratyphi A O-specific polysaccharide (O:2 antigen) chemically conjugated to a carrier protein to elicit a T-cell-dependent immune response, providing robust and long-lasting protection. The vaccine is currently in Phase 1 clinical development.
