**Salonimex** is an oral fixed-dose expectorant formulation marketed by Emcee Pharmaceuticals for productive cough with mucus and associated chest congestion. The marketed syrup contains ambroxol, guaifenesin, and terbutaline. Ambroxol acts as a mucolytic and secretolytic agent that reduces mucus viscosity, guaifenesin promotes expectoration by increasing respiratory-tract fluid and reducing mucus adhesiveness, and terbutaline is a beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that produces bronchodilation. The combination is used for symptomatic relief of wet cough and bronchospasm-associated airway congestion.
