SalPyr-7 is an experimental **salicylanilide 5-chloropyrazinoate** small molecule reported in preclinical medicinal chemistry research as part of a series of substituted salicylanilide derivatives evaluated for anticancer activity in **glioblastoma** models. In the cited study, SalPyr-7 reduced viability of U87 human glioblastoma cells, and salicylanilide compound-induced glioblastoma cell death was associated with **autophagy activation** as assessed by LC3 processing. The compound was also studied in peptide-conjugated forms to improve cellular internalization and tissue penetration, but SalPyr-7 itself appears to be a research compound rather than a clinically developed drug, with no identified commercial developer, manufacturer, brand name, or clinical development program.
