Salutaxel (CP-0127) is a novel, next-generation taxane derivative developed by Ningbo Comprege Pharmaceutical Technology Co., Ltd. for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. Like other taxanes, it functions as a microtubule stabilizer by binding to the beta-subunit of tubulin, promoting microtubule assembly and inhibiting depolymerization. This stabilization disrupts the dynamic equilibrium of the microtubule network, leading to cell cycle arrest at the G2/M phase and subsequent apoptosis. Salutaxel is engineered to potentially offer improved efficacy and a better safety profile compared to first-generation taxanes, particularly in patients with taxane-resistant tumors. It is currently undergoing Phase 1/2 clinical evaluation in China for various solid tumor indications.
