Salvax

Salvax is a topical dermatological product containing 6% salicylic acid, developed and marketed by Exeltis USA Dermatology. It is formulated as an aerosol foam and acts as a small molecule keratolytic agent. The drug's mechanism of action involves the dissolution of the intercellular cement substance, which facilitates the desquamation of the stratum corneum (horny layer) of the skin. Salvax is indicated for the removal of excessive keratin in various hyperkeratotic skin disorders, including psoriasis, acne, eczema, seborrhea, warts, and several types of ichthyosis and keratosis. Notably, Salvax is marketed as an unapproved drug that has not been formally evaluated by the FDA for safety and efficacy.
