Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SAM-01 is an engineered bacterial therapeutic candidate developed by CNcure, utilizing the company's Salmonella-based Armed Microbe (SAM) platform. The therapy is based on an attenuated strain of *Salmonella typhimurium* that has been genetically modified to selectively target and colonize the hypoxic and necrotic regions of solid tumors. By leveraging the natural tumor-homing properties of Salmonella, SAM-01 acts as a localized delivery vehicle for therapeutic payloads designed to modulate the tumor microenvironment and stimulate a robust anti-tumor immune response. The program is currently in the lead optimization stage for the treatment of various solid cancers.
