Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SAM-02 is a preclinical-stage engineered bacterial therapeutic candidate developed by CNcure. It is part of the company's Salmonella-based Anticancer Modality (SAM) platform, which utilizes attenuated *Salmonella typhimurium* as a delivery vector. These bacteria are engineered to selectively colonize and proliferate within the hypoxic and necrotic regions of solid tumors, which are typically inaccessible to conventional therapies. SAM-02 is designed to deliver a cytolytic anticancer payload directly into the tumor microenvironment, aiming to induce direct tumor cell lysis and trigger a localized immune response against the malignancy while minimizing systemic side effects.
