Drug intelligence / Profile preview
SAM-05 is an engineered bacterial therapeutic developed by CNcure as part of its Salmonella-based Armed Microbe (SAM) platform. The drug utilizes a genetically modified strain of *Salmonella typhimurium* designed to selectively colonize and proliferate within the hypoxic and necrotic regions of solid tumors. Once localized, these "armed" microbes are engineered to express therapeutic payloads or modulate the tumor microenvironment to stimulate an anti-tumor immune response. SAM-05 is currently in the hit-to-lead stage of preclinical development for the treatment of various solid cancers.
